Highlights from the 2021 Outback Retreat
The 11-day adventure started with a roast lunch on a country homestead, then we travelled to the Far West. As far as Camerons Corner near the border of NSW and Queensland.

$1250 pp in 8-seater van OR $990 pp (own vehicle).
Inclusions: Accommodation for 10 nights, all breakfasts and lunches, 2 camp dinners, incidentals, drinking water and mindfulness activities. Also, transport costs to Broken Hill, if travelling in van.
Exclusions: Dinners not mentioned, alcoholic beverages, return travel from Broken Hill and accommodation in Condobolin on return.
DAY 1 – Thursday 27th May
We will gather for a 3-course lunch in own vehicle at Yarrabandai Creek Homestead, between Forbes and Condobolin, before heading north to Nymagee, meaning the place of tranquility, to Hartwood Station shearing quarters.
DAY 2 – Friday 28th May
The whole day will be spent relaxing and exploring the 40,000-acre property, including a trip to the highest mountain for stunning views and a bush walk to an old mine.
DAY 3 – Saturday 29th May
After a hearty breakfast, we will be off to Cobar for a look-in at the gold mine before venturing further north to Bourke. We will be staying in cabins at the Kidman Camp beside the Darling river.
DAY 4 – Sunday 30th May
This is the day to soak in some country air and meander through Bourke. Some may venture out for a pub meal whilst others may choose to lay quiet and go fishing.
DAY 5 – Monday 31st May
This is the day of most travelling from Bourke to Tibooburra. There will be opportunities to stop and take photos and do some art therapy, as well as guided meditations. There will be plenty of time to set up in Tibooburra for camping over two nights.
DAY 6 – Tuesday 1st June
We travel one and half hours to Camerons Corner and exploring the Sturt National Park. You will need good sturdy walking boots. There will be much flora and fauna, as well as the landscapes to take in whilst we enjoy a picnic BBQ lunch on the way.
DAY 7 – Wednesday 2nd June
A shorter trip from Tibooburra to White Cliffs, will take the group to the underground resort hotel, where we stay for two nights in a bit of luxury. Have a dip in the pool or sip cocktails around it.
DAY 8 – Thursday 3rd June
This is the day to completely wind down at the resort in White Cliffs. We are not going anywhere. A free day of comfort and pampering.
DAY 9 – Friday 4th June
The final leg of the journey to Broken Hill, where we will be staying in a self-contained town house for the whole group. On the way there will be a tour of Silverton before going out on the town for dinner for pub dining.
DAY 10 – Saturday 5th June
As we spend a day in Broken Hill, there will be a chance to book a mine tour and go to the Australian Museum, or explore the shops of this regional centre.
DAY 11 – Sunday 6th June
Now it’s time to travel home and return to Condobolin via the Menindee Lakes.
You can choose to travel back via vehicle or alternatively take the train (own expense) for a different perspective.
It’s an 8-hour drive so it will be an early start and you may wish to stay in the Condobolin caravan park or motel overnight (own expense) before heading home.
